Professor of Economics and Governance Studies at the State university of New York, Stony Brook, Professor Emmanuel Kwasi Prempeh has advised government to re-direct Teacher And Nursing Trainees Allowance to improving infrastructure in the Colleges of Education. According to Professor Prempeh, the policy of paying Allowance to Teacher and Nursing Trainees so as to attract more students to the teaching profession is no longer tenable. He is therefore calling on the Education Ministry, Ghana Tertiary Education Commission, GTEC and other state agencies to re-focus and re-direct financial allocations towards providing infrastructure to the Colleges of Education. Professor Emmanuel Kwasi Prempeh was contributing to a media discussion on the delay in releasing funds for the payment of allowances to Teachers and Nursing Trainees. Meanwhile, Teacher And Nursing Trainees Allowance has been in arrears for six months now with some trainees speculating cancelation of same, altogether.
The National Communication Bureau of the New Patriotic Party (NPP ) wishes to inform all its Communicators, Media Monitors, and Officials that the Party has boycotted TV3 morning Show ( NewDay) effectively 3rd January 2022. The reason for this boycott has to do with the unreasonable decision of the Producers and Host of the program Johnny who always interrupt npp communicators when they are showcasing the projects the government has done. All efforts to get the Producers and Host of the program to give us a fair treatment on the show over the 6 months, including a complaint to the Management of the station for an amicable resolution of this matter, have proven futile, as the party continues to be twith the witthe utmost contempt.
Former first lady Mrs. Naadu Mills has rejected the newly approved salary for the first and second ladies. According to her, the country is broke so the is no need to give this amount to them but rather use it to build schools and hospitals for those in the hinterland.
