Tarkwa Nsuaem have been dropped from 5th position in 2019 to 96th in 2021. The ranking is based on the performance of MMDCE in the country. In 2019 , Tarkwa Nsuaem was 1st in Western region and 5th in the whole country. Research shows that when Mr. K.B. Asmah was the MCE he brought a lot of development in tarkwa Nsuaem.

Chiefs of Tarkwa Nsuaem have rejected the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area, Benjamin Kese The chiefs rejected him in protest of MCE’s plethora of unfulfilled promises. “We rejected him due to the MCE’s failure to ensure that the deplorable roads in the area are fixed, to provide us access roads and other social amenities like those provided to other constituency” they added. Macho men numbering about eight besieged the residence of the senior sister of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly(TNMA) MCE, Benjamin Kessie on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 and subsequently beat and dragged her on the floor. The macho men who were mobilised by Mr. Kessie(MCE), the MCE first zoomed in to the Kitchen of his sister and vandalise her utensils, deep freezer, gas cooker and other gadgets in the kitchen. The brouhaha drew the attention of passers by and neighbors upon hearing the loud screaming of the woman.
